Student-led society bringing together emerging talents from UAL campuses.
The purpose of the Magazine Publishing Society is to create a safe and inclusive creative environment, aiming to connect students passioned about magazines, journalism or visual arts. People say today’s classmates are tomorrow’s collaborators, and we want to help students build those relationships early on, inside the inspiring space that the Magazine Publishing Society will be. The idea is to create an overarching umbrella under which many creative projects and initiatives can start. We welcome everyone interested in media to join us whether you're in to make friends, join our activities or be a contributor for our printed magazine!
We are primarily based in LCC but will host some of our events in locations around London and online.
Monthly:
- 1 to 2 networking events, designed to make friends, discuss magazines, showcase your work and find collaborators.
- 1 creative/educational activity, either on campus or around London, among printing/binding workshop, studio/gallery visit, and more.
Throughout the year
- Magazine making resulting in a printed magazine and a showcase event. This is not only a rewarding project and a platform for students to experiment and share their own voices, but also an opportunity to expand one’s creative portfolio and experiences. Students interested in being a contributor can create and submit content around a common theme, you can also participate in printing and binding. Every contributor gets a copy! Our pilot magazine's theme was 'room'.
